CLEVELAND BALLET OPENS NEW SEASON

This month, the Cleveland Ballet will be presenting its second professional season, a season opening on October 14, at Cleveland's downtown Hanna Theatre. A total of 27 performances will be presented in four producing periods scheduled for mid-October, early-December,

late-January

and mid-April. Throughout the season, two world premiere ballets and two company premieres will be offered, favorite repertory ballets from last season will be repeated and the new Cleveland Ballet Orchestra will be presented in all performances.

Six performances will be offered in the October series:

Friday, October 14 at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15 at 8:30

p.m.

Sunday, October 16 at 3:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 20 at 8:30

p.m.

Friday, October 21 at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 22 at 8:30

p.m.

Alternating repertory will be presented. The October 14th, 15th and 16th programs will include: "Mendelssohn Symphony" (Nahat/Mendelssohn): "Three Virgins and a Devil" (deMille/Resphighi); "Ontogeny" (Nahat/Husa); and, "US" (Horvath-Nahat/American Traditional).

Ballets to be performed on the October 20th, 21st and 22nd programs include:

"Mendelssohn Symphony": "Things Our Fathers Loved" (Nahat/Ives); and "Grand Pas de Dix" (Nahat/Glazounov).

Ticket prices for the season are: orchestra (Patron Section), $15; orchestra and mezzanine $10; first balcony, $8 second balcony, $7 and third balcony. $5.
